Shantal Shamoiel
Shantal Shamoiel is an Emergency Placement Clinical Social Worker at Aldea Children and Family Services, Treatment Foster Care and Adoptions Department. She received her Bachelors of Arts at the University of California at Los Angeles in Sociology. She then went on to receive her Masters in Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. Ms. Shamoiel is currently working on her dissertation and is planning on completing her doctorate degree from Alliant International University in December 2014 in Psychology. Her dissertation is titled, Caring for Foster Children: The Relationship Dynamic of Parenting Skills, Stressors, and Needs, and Children’s Ages, Ethnicities, and Participation in Intensive Treatment Foster Care (ITFC) Services and Its Impact on Foster Children’s Daily Lives. Ms. Shamoiel has a publication for Childhood and Families in the Modern World Conference in Vladivostok, Russia (2012), titled, “Modern Day Foster Care in the USA.” Prior to foster care, Ms. Shamoiel spent several years working in residential treatment facilities focused on eating disorders.
