As an editor I do not recommend self editing your work. It’s too easy to read over something you knew you meant to say. Plus, it’s easy to jump right in and forget about engaging your reader. Both are things you rely on your editor to assist with in your writing process.
Having said that, there are times when you need to self edit your writing. Blog posts… Writing a blog post is usually easy and you want to get it posted quickly. However, you still need to have a well written blog post that engages your reader.
