You Could Fail, 3 Reasons to Do it Anyway
You started your own business so you’ve already taken a big leap into the unknown.
You show up every day committed to making things happen.
But what have you risked lately?
Do you continue to evolve and stretch yourself in new ways and in new directions?
Are you really putting yourself out there?
“You’ve been given a turn. Will you take it?” Seth Godin
Yup, it’s all up to you. All you have to do is say yes.
My hunch is that there is something you want to do in your business, something you’ve been thinking about for quite some time.
Why not make the absolute most of the business you have created. This is an opportunity to express who you are and use all of the talent that you possess.
So what’s holding you back? Fear is probably part of it.

“Fear is always triggered by creativity, because creativity asks you to enter into realms of uncertain outcome, and fear hates uncertain outcome. This is nothing to be ashamed of. It is, however, something to be dealt with.” Elizabeth Gilbert

Besides fear, you probably have a bunch of convincing reasons (or excuses – ouch) why you haven’t begun.
Now is the time, the time to dare to take a stand and create something marvelous in your business.
In Seth Godin’s delightful new book, What to Do When It’s Your Turn (and it’s always your turn) he says, “This is a book about an opportunity. The opportunity to take your turn and to make a difference.”
But taking the opportunity doesn’t ensure success, it might not work out.
There are no guarantees in business or life (except that you only get one – as far as I know).
I love Seth’s quote, “The cost of being wrong is less than the cost of doing nothing.” Click to Tweet
Let that one really sink in. Are you willing to go ahead no matter what the outcome might be?
If you can fully embrace this concept, you will get into action and continue to move forward no matter what happens.
And here are three reasons go for it even though it might not work.
3 Reasons to Do it Anyway
1. It’s the only way to find out, either way
2. You will learn a lot, either way
3. It might actually work
Seth talks about the idea of living with the tension that exists when you’re creating something. The tension that it may work but it may not.
It’s not about getting rid of the tension, it’s about accepting it as part of the process.
Accept that the tension is a normal part of creating and that it actually makes the experience exciting.
Feeling motivated and ready to take action?
The book shares four practical steps from Monika Hardy.
4 Practical Steps
“Notice, dream, connect & do.
We fail to notice because we’re busy keeping busy.
We fail to dream because dreaming implies that we have to take a risk to realize our dream.
We fail to connect because we might get rejected.
And we fail to do because we haven’t noticed, we haven’t dreamed, and we haven’t connected.”
Ready to make something that matters? You are free to create something amazing so get to it.
Make the decision to dump the excuses, march through your fear and get started on your creation today.
