The and are celebrating the Annual American Home Week April 12–18, 2015. This year’s theme is “Making a House a Home” emphasizes the value of homeownership and its importance to our communities. The NSCAR Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial support to tax exempt organizations under IRS 501(c)(3), to give scholarships and provide educational programs that are real estate related. The foundation has provided support for several charities in the past including Opportunity House, Mission Solano, Travis Fisher House, and Habitat for Humanity. This year the designated charity is The Boot Campaign whose mission is to promote patriotism for America and our military community while raising awareness of the unique challenges service members face during and post-service.
American Home Week is a time when local Realtors and Affiliates gather together to reflect how to create positive and vibrant communities. The American Dream of home ownership is not just good for families, but for the economy and country. In keeping with this philosophy the local real estate community focuses on giving back to community where they work and live. Several local lenders, real estate offices, and businesses offer their support through a variety of sponsorships and donations.
The week-long celebration will host a variety of activities including a Fundraising Luncheon at Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield on April 14th. Highlighting the luncheon will be a motivational message from the keynote speaker, Retired USMC Captain and Purple Heart Recipient, Cpl. Ryan Lamke of Washington D.C. and ambassador to the Boot Campaign. Attendees will have the chance to win the door prize of a pair of tickets for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Sonoma Raceway donated by the Reporter, and to visit the vendor booths representing a variety of services.
