County-wide business networking event to be held at Solano Community College on Thursday, May 7, 2015

Solano Community College Educational Foundation and First Northern Bank host third annual event on Fairfield campus.

The Solano Community College Educational Foundation, in association with First Northern Bank will host Solano Business Connections and Expo, the area’s largest networking event and business expo. The event will be held at Solano Community College’s Fairfield campus on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. The College campus is located at 4000 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield, CA.
Ten area chambers of commerce, representing the geographic areas of Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield-Suisun, Rio Vista, Vacaville, Vallejo, Winters, and the cultural chambers (Solano County Black Chamber, Filipino-American Chamber of Solano County, and the Solano Hispanic Chamber), along with Solano Economic Development Corporation, will participate. The Foundation anticipates approximately 600 attendees and 110 vendor booth at this third annual event. Admission is $10 for Chamber/EDC members and $15 for non-members.
Guests will enjoy fine food, Suisun Valley wines, and micro brews from Heretic Brewing Company and Mare Island Brewing Co. A Microsoft Surface Pro 3 donated by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) will be the main raffle price. Proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will fund “Chamber of Commerce Scholarships” for the Solano Promise; A Hand Up for Higher Education at SCC. The Solano Promise is fundraising campaign the by Solano Community College Educational Foundation to support at risk students.

Curt Johnston, Executive Director of the Solano Community College Educational Foundation, stated “This event provides local businesses an opportunity to connect with potential customers from throughout Solano County and Winters. Our economy will be strengthened with more business-to-business activity. This is a core mission of our local Chambers of Commerce, and the College is proud to be a partner by hosting this event. Also, it’s important to invite the business community to the College to tour the campus and see where their workforce is educated and trained.”
