The Bishwa Seva Foundation has been gifted with hundreds of touching hand- written letters and drawings from kids around the world in support of the children of Nepal. This project was organized by a school teacher in Taiwan. We have been asked to present these letters and drawings to the children of Nepal on behalf of the kids in the rest of the world.
Before the Foundation sends these kid-crafted items on to the kids of Nepal, we were asked to display them and bring them to the public’s attention.
What is the Bishwa Seva Foundation’s intention with all of this “kids connecting with kids” project?
The words, “bishwa seva” mean to serve the world; that is the intention of this and all of our projects. Arranging to display a gesture of camaraderie and compassion from kids of the world to earthquake-rattled kids of Nepal exemplifies our mission.
Having said that, I do need help clarifying the benefit of this project for the Foundation.
The Bishwa Seva Foundation does serve in Nepal through education related projects: 1.) educating disadvantaged students and, 2.) educating remote villagers on world-wide safe building practices. (The Smart Home Nepal project.)
This means the Foundation is in a drive to secure more sponsors for our students and we are raising money for a Smart Home Nepal project. How we tie the good will gesture of kids from around the world to the Foundation’s goals is tenous. Perhaps it is best to raise public awareness of the Foundation and let it go at that.
Blessings,
