Here We Grow!
We are so excited to make this announcement, it’s something we have been working on for months now and finally we can let you in on what’s happen here.
Benita Kimball of At Last Bra and Lingerie has successfully completed a rigorous process to earn certification as a mastectomy fitter from the Board for Certification/Accreditation (BOC). Certification is awarded when an individual has successfully completed extensive educational training and practical experience under supervision, passed a comprehensive examination, and meets nationally-accepted standards of practice. Certified professionals are qualified to provide patient care and to fabricate and/or fit appropriate prescribed devices to individuals; devices are used to support, align, prevent, or correct conditions of the body or skeleton, or to improve the function of moveable parts of the body.
“I am honored and proud to have earned certification,” says Kimball. “Working with patients provides a special kind of satisfaction, knowing that what I have learned is going to help someone else return to activities they have always enjoyed. My partner @ At Last Bra and Lingerie has been very supportive of my efforts, and now I will be able to return that support by doing everything I can to help our patients.”
“As Benita’s co-worker, I am very proud that she has achieved certification and knows that it will strengthen our company’s ability to serve the community.”
Kimball a native of Mountain View, California has co-owned At Last Bra and Lingerie for 9 plus years. Kimball started At Last Bra and Lingerie as a start-up company to fit women and teens from sizes 28-50 band DD-K cups in 2006. Kimball attended college in Atlanta, Georgia and received her BA in Mass Communications. Kimball earned her MFA from the American Film Institute (AFI) and in 2012 she received an MBA from Herzing University.
“The goal of the profession is to help people maintain or regain the mobility that allows them to stay healthy,” notes Claudia Zacharias, President  & CEO of BOC, located in Owings Mills, Maryland. “With the American population spanning five generations, we are seeing people in every age group experience mobility issues. That means the need for services is increasing. It is a genuine pleasure to welcome Benita Kimball as a BOC-certified professional.”
