Grand Opening of Volunteer Center at Kroc Center

Grand Opening of Volunteer Center at Kroc Center
The Salvation Army (586 E. Wigeon Way) will have a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of their seasonal Volunteer Center. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m. during the Kroc Center’s Holiday Faire event.
“There is a great deal of need this season for volunteers.” said Captain Jonathan Harvey,
The Salvation Army Solano County Coordinator.
“Through the new Volunteer Center, new volunteer website, and our volunteer coordinator, we are trying to make the process of volunteering as easy as possible.
The new Volunteer Center will help stream line the registration process for volunteers, as well as create a single point of entry for anyone wishing to help and talk about opportunities.
“We are very excited to offer  place where volunteers can visit our team and learn how to get involved.” said Harvey.
During the holiday season, hundreds of volunteers are essential to meeting the needs of those in Solano County.  Food packing, toy distribution and kettle ringing are just a few of the added volunteer positions to the already considerable amount volunteers needed on a weekly basis.
