Rebuilding Together Solano County Honored as Community Champion

Rebuilding Together Solano County was recently honored with a community champion award by Assemblymember Bill Dodd for their work helping those in need. Rebuilding Together Solano County is a local nonprofit that brings local community members and business together to rehabilitate homes for low-income seniors, disabled individuals and veterans.
“We are honored to be recognized as a community champion by Assemblymember Dodd,” said Elizabeth Hoffman, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Solano County. “This organization, its members and volunteers strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people who live in this community. This recognition is a true reflection of the generosity, passion, and dedication of our membership.”
Rebuilding Together Solano County first began helping low-income homeowners in Vallejo and has since expanded to provide services throughout Solano County. Since 2009, they have helped rehabilitate 23 homes in Solano and have developed partnerships with national business like Home Depot to help complete the restorations of the homes. Their services include replacement of plumbing and electrical fixtures, carpentry and construction on interior walls, painting and finishing, as well as landscaping work; all with an eye towards ultimate maintainability by the homeowner.

“Rebuilding Together Solano County is a great example of how non-profits can work collaboratively to tackle important projects and make a real difference in people’s lives,” said Assemblymember Dodd. “It’s an absolute pleasure to recognize Rebuilding Together Solano County as a community champion, they’re a true inspiration.”
