Its “peeva” in Russian and “cerveza” in Spanish; but, whether you call it “brew”, “brewski”, or “suds” , we all agree the “nectar of the hops” is something to celebrate. On a sun soaked Saturday in June , there’s no better place to sip beer with friends than at the Big Solano Brew-Haha at the Joseph Nelson Center in Suisun City. Pouring craft beers from around the region, this year’s Brew-Haha is being hosted by Child Haven, Inc.
Individual entry includes unlimited samples of local and regional craft brews, ales and limited release specialty beers. Imports, ciders and fruit beers are also on tap, offering something for all tastes. You can also purchase a reserved VIP table for 8 which includes snacks at the table, Stella Artois beer challises for each guest, and early entry at 12:30. They are expecting close to 20 brewers to offer 75+ beers. Brewers already planning to attend include Stella Artois, Lost Coast, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada Brewing, Mendocino Brewing, Almanac, Eight Bridges and Mraz among others. They expect to see the local brewers Heretic, Mare Island Brewers and Napa Smith Brewery return this year as well. The event is sponsored in part by www.BeersInSac.com
While the tickets include unlimited brew sampling, participants will also enjoy live entertainment with local classic rock band Sagemill Road. Luigi’s Deli will be there serving bacon-wrapped beer brats hot off the grill in the enclosed beer garden.
95.3 KUIC’s Morning Show talent will again be on hand to emcee the event. The 21+ indoor event will be held on Saturday June 20th from 1pm-4pm (VIP ticket holders get in at 12:30) at the Joseph Nelson Community Center, 611 Village Drive, in Suisun City.
“We are thrilled to see the event grow like this. It was great fun last year and will be even bigger. We expect to sell out” states event coordinator Michalle Shown-Rodriguez from Child Haven. The event will help Child Haven, Inc in their mission to provide therapeutic counseling and other critical services to Solano County children who have experienced trauma as a result of violence, abuse and neglect.
A handful of sponsorships are available by calling Michalle at 707 425-5744 Ext 103. Tickets are $25 before April 30th and $35 after, and may be purchased by visiting the Child Haven website at www.child-haven.org and clicking on the “Support Us” link. You can also find the event on Facebook.
