Your business is special. You provide a set of services to a specific set of clients. It’s your niche. It’s what you do. You do it well.
But… do you think you need to be everything to everybody? Do you ever take work that really isn’t your ‘cup of tea’? Do you try to do something for someone because you want to be nice to that person? Do you add on extra services just because you know they need them?
It’s the same thing for first time writers. When I conduct writing workshops, I ask writers who their audience is. When I hear the answer ‘everybody’, I tell them that is not an answer. If everybody is your audience…then really nobody is your audience. Go back to your niche. What do you want to write? Who do you want to read it?
Your writing is as special as your business. Think about it.
