Kimball Hooker Music

Kimball Hooker
I began my musical journey at the young age of 12 and I was in the church when it 1st hit me. I loved the snap of the drums and the feeling it gave me. Then I was so inspired to play, so my parents bought me a drum set of my own and I played on my back porch all hours of the day and night while listening to the radio songs trying to repeat what I heard. After I was good enough to play at a comfortable level I was in several local bands in the neighborhood of San Jose. Soon after high school I moved to Minneapolis Minnesota with some high school buddies and I played in a local band called “The Rude Boys” and played in local clubs: First Ave, The Roxy, The Capri Theatre, Mississippi Live, The Fine Line and Powder Horn Park.
When I returned to the bay area in the early 90’s, my whole world changed and I began recording and song writing. So I bought a studio and attended Pyramind Sound in San Francisco and learned how to engineer using Pro Tools, Cubase and other great recording/editing software . I also directed a short video for Black Nate Debiase and Chuy from KMEL did the voice over for (The Natrix video clip called -Unstoppable) and it was shown on B.E.T.
Artist I have played with: Cindy Herron of the multi-platinum 90’s group R&B group “EnVogue”, Jazz legend “Eddie Gale”, R&B old school artist “Gloria Scott”, Blues man “Kenny Neal”, Ron E. Beck of “Tower of Power”, HipHop Rapper & Producer “ProHoeZak”, Double Funk Crunch, The Funky Fresh Band, Pinkie & Blind Resistance, Mike Osborn Band and many other great artists.
I recently produced a new CD for R&B soul singer Gloria Scott. This is her first debut release since 1974 produced by the late great legendary Barry White.
Today I am a professional drummer/producer and performer in Silicon Valley, CA. Here is a link to view more of my work:  www.youtube.com/user/wilee1968.
