I am pleased to report that in my second year at Solano College, we were able to add Men’s and Women’s Tennis Programs through great Community support. To continue our momentum, I am reaching out to alert you of our 5th Annual Tee Off for Athletes Golf Invitational which is planned for Friday, October 7, 2016 at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in Vallejo. Last year was a resounding success as we nearly were at full capacity and raised $30,000 for our athletic programs.
This tournament is the primary fundraiser for the Solano Community College Athletics Department. Revenues generated will provide direct support for Solano’s athletic teams, plus our Sports Medicine Program. The teams are Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Softball, Men’s Swim/Dive, Women’s Swim/Dive, Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Tennis.
The support of individuals and corporations allows the teams to continue at their level of success. At Solano College, we work hard to improve our community not only by encouraging students to excel in teamwork and athleticism, but to strive for excellence in citizenship, community service and academics.
